MG Open Day

Wow!!! What an excellent day today was!! There was an MG open day at Brown and Gammons in Baldock Herts.

I had never been before so wasn’t sure what to expect. I have only owned and MGF for 10 months so it is all still fairly new to me. I was amazed at the turnout and the amount of people looking at the MG cars.

MG Open Day And more MG's

It was like looking at a car sales forecourt full of MGF’s and MGTF’s all different colours and ages. Most of the cars were customised and looked great. People walking by stopped and had a good look around the cars and seemed to be impressed that there were so many in the area at one time.

Gosh another one! This is Great! Vintage

They had a BBQ for all who attended and ran demonstrations for fitting lights and other accessories. I had an early birthday present by having some Lexus style rear lights fitted to my car. I really liked them as some others had already had them fitted and as my car is silver, they look great!! I have finally got the union jack flags for the front wings too which I will fit once I have cleaned my car again.

My Car

There was also a competition where you had to change a full set of wheels on an MG Rally car. Not everyone took part but it was fun to watch.

People came from as far as Exeter to attend the day and we also got chatting to people who had come from different parts of Essex. Everyone was really friendly and although we didn’t know anyone, they chatted as if they did know us.

It didn’t matter if your car was super customised or just bog standard, everyone was keen to look at your car and share in their enthusiasm. It is a great way to meet new friends and have a laugh and a fun day. There are lots of events taking place all over the country and everyone who owns an MG is welcome.

It was an excellent day and I am so glad that we went. I think David had alot of fun too and hopefully there will be antoher open day next year.
