St Neots Visit
Yesterday I went back to St Neots to visit my friends. It was great to see them and catch up on each others news. We had lunch in Brewster’s, which didn’t go particularly smoothly!!
They failed to inform us that there was a 45 minute wait for our food!! I only found out as I was waiting to be served at the bar and overheard the barmaid telling a couple of men. I questioned it and she informed me it was correct. The girls were not impressed at that as the kids were all so hungry and were getting irritable. Eventually after around 1 hour of waiting, they finally brought out our lunches. Mine and James’ was last but only because Hayley questioned the order and the girl said there was no more for our table!! Yes there was!! James’ and mine were still to come!! She went back and them brought out ours, which may I add, was very disappointing!! James’ lunch wasn’t particularly hot and my sandwich looked like it had been thrown on the plate and was very dry!! I took it back and complained!! Obviously worrying about what might happen to my next sandwich as no chef likes complaints do they ???? The manager brought me a fresh one, which still looked like it had been thrown on the plate, no marks for presentation, and it was ok this time. Not much cheese but edible!! She then came back and gave me a complete refund. I was happy with that but disappointed that it took so long.
Needless to say I had to leave my friends before they had their puddings as I had arranged to see Maria, and was already running behind schedule!! Had a lovely time with Maria too even though it was cut short as I wanted to miss the traffic!! NO SUCH LUCK!! That’s a different story!
