Journey Home!!
After leaving very windy St Neots I was keen to get home!! It felt very cold in the wind and it was blowing my car around a bit. I made a good start along the A428 making good time. I got onto the M11 and the wind seemed to have disappeared! The M11 was busy on and off with the usual lorries overtaking lorries and causing chaos but on the whole not too bad!!
I get off at Stansted and think I am on the homestretch, but OH NO!! As I get on to the A120, there was an accident which blocked both lanes and I came to a very sudden stop and masses of cars were everywhere!! No one knew where to go as only the slip road was available and cars were coming off the M11 as I had. NIGHTMARE!! I sat for about 20 minutes before I could squeeze through and get passed. The Police arrived while I sat waiting and then I saw the Fire Engine. From what I could see, no one was seriously hurt, thankfully, but it looked like 2 cars had hit the central reservation. Eventually I got through and the roads were clear until I got to Freeport and as usual there is the mile long queue for the roundabout!!
After sitting in the queue for some time, I manage to get going and things are good. As I was going along, it was getting darker and the traffic busier along the A120. I got to Coggelshall and this stupid idiot pulled out in front of me!! I slammed on my brakes and had my finger on the horn and flashed my headlights at this driver, but he was TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS!! I was somewhat sweating as there was a lorry behind me who was gaining on me very quickly as he couldn’t brake like me!! I could see his headlights coming closer to the back of my car and I was getting very nervous. I had James in the car with me and had no idea if this lorry would catch me up!! I was very cross with the driver in front and had to follow him all the way to the A12.
On approaching the A12 he obviously thought he could get away from me and as I watched him getting onto the A12, he cut up yet another driver and pulled out right in front of him too!! WHAT AN IDIOT!! The guy in the other car braked and appeared to swerve and this guy just carried on weaving in and out of the traffic. I caught up with him and flashed him again to let him know how annoyed he was making people and he still continued to weave in and out of the traffic. What a total MORON!! I got off at my exit and couldn’t believe how stupid some people are!! I did get the reg of his van as I followed it long enough but there is no point in reporting it as nothing will be done anyway!!
I did make it home in one piece as you can tell as I wouldn’t be writing this!! Some drivers don’t deserve to have a licence and how they pass their test is beyond me!! I will be taking the same route again on Friday as I am going to visit my friend in Sandy. Watch this space for that journey……..
