Christmas

Well what can I say?? A very busy time of year for everyone, dashing around getting the last few xmas pressies and then having to do the BIG food shop. The trolley was overflowing and I couldn’t believe it was for just 1 day!! Well I did have 14 to cater for so it’s not really that surprising I suppose.

It was hard work but my mother in law was fantastic with all of the help she gave me. I have never cooked for so many people before and her guidance was very valuable. Thank you mum for all of your help, I couldn’t have done it without your help and expertise. Well I would have got stressed beyond belief if I had to do it all alone.

We had to empty the dining room of furniture so that we could get all 14 seated comfortably. The study was full to bursting with the dining room furniture and drinks for the day. My father in law and David moved all of the furniture around and mum and I popped out to buy some chairs as we didn’t have enough seats for everyone. We bought some fantastic stools from the Range and they did the job perfectly. So Thank you David and dad for moving furniture and dad for helping with the washing up.

I think everyone had a good time and the day was certainly successful and not much food was wasted. It was lovely to see everyone and we enjoyed the day very much.

Now we have James’ and Tiffanys’ birthdays approaching fast, James’ is the 28th (gosh tomorrow) and Tiff’s is on the 3rd of Jan. What a time of year to have a birthday!! Poor mites have to wait all year for their pressies.

We are off to the panto tomorrow evening to see Beauty and the Beast. It is a surprise for James so it should be good fun. He is approaching the age now where he can appreciate things like pantos. I am looking forward to going.
