Got The Roller Out Again!!
Hi from me to all who read my blog.
Yes I have had the decorating bug again!! I was looking around the boring magnolia walls in our lounge and decided I couldn’t stand it anymore. We took a trip to B&Q last weekend and spent ages browsing over the many colour charts and finally came to a decision. I was keen to start on Monday morning so doned the painting clothes and got the roller and brushes out and got started.
After doing one wall, I decided to gloss the skirting boards on that wall so I only had to move the furniture once. I was surprised at how much the white had discoloured considering the house is only just over 2 years old. That was the lot for me that day as the gloss is so overpowering it plays havoc on the sinuses.
Tuesday I was keen to get going again and Tiff did her best to occupy James for me. I managed to get the other 3 walls painted, as well as taking delivery of Tiff’s new bedroom furniture, which may I add is rather nice. I left the guys to get on with fitting it all and I carried on with the painting. It was getting quite late and I hadn’t even thought about dinner until David walked through the door and I realised how late it was. He went to the chippie so I didn’t have to cook. I finished off the window surrounds and called it a good days work.
As it was half term, I met with some friends in Adventureland so James was able to run off a lot of energy. I had a day off from painting and decided on Thursday to have another day off. I was really trying to avoid doing the gloss. But by Friday I thought if I don’t do it then it wouldn’t get done. So I braved the smell and got on with it. It took longer than I thought but the end result was very satisfying as it looked good to me. David said I had done a good job as well so I was happy. Even today, it still smells of gloss but it is fading now so hopefully in a few days it won’t notice anymore.
After that I washed all of James’ bedroom walls down and touched up the paint on the walls and put his new wall stickers up. His room looks all fresh again and a bit more grown up and he is happy so I am happy. I have also done Tiff’s walls as they were needing a refresh as well. I still have a few cracks to refill in the bathroom and our bedroom, which is annoying as I had done them before when I decorated them. Never mind as it will give me something else to do.
By the way, the guys at the garage have sorted out my car radio. It turns out that the radio was changed at some point and the code I was given was for the old radio. I have the new one now so no more driving without music.
