German Exchange Students Arrive!

The time has finally arrived for the German students to arrive!  After rushing around getting everything ready for today I can finally relax a little now that Lisa and her fellow students arrived safely this afternoon at the Gilberd School at 4pm.

After a lovely warm sunny day, the heavens decided to open at 3pm while I waited for James to come out from school.  As it was raining I went to collect Tiffany so she could get changed in time before going back to school to collect her exchange student.  It was a bit of a rush getting back in time and they arrived right on time.

After a mix up with bags we finally got home at nearly 5pm.  Lisa is a very nice young girl and very tall.  After tea, Tiffany and Lisa went to Sarah’s house to watch a dvd.  On returning home the girls decided to go to bed as Lisa had been up for quite some hours after leaving Germany at 5am (our time).

I think that today has gone well considering Lisa is in a strange home and feeling a little homesick.  I hope that we can make her stay stress free and as much at home as possible.  We have a busy weekend ahead with Karate in the morning, which Lisa is going to join our class for a day, then we have been invited to Sarah’s house along with some other parents and students for a pool party and bbq.  Let’s hope the weather is on our side!!  Sunday we are going swimming in the morning and then I have arranged for the same group of students to go bowling in the afternoon.

I will give you a daily update as to how things are going and hopefully you will get an insight as to what the experience is like for all of us.
