Pool Party!
Well we were certainly blessed with the weather! The sun was shining and even though it was a little chilly, the kids all went into the pool. They said the water was cold but it didn’t stop them enjoying themselves.
It was lovely of Sarahs’ parents to invite everyone to their home so that the German students had some contact with each other. Some of us parents stayed and enjoyed the warm sunshine and the lovely bbq that was cooked by Sarahs’ dad. It was nice to meet other parents whose children were involved in the exchange. We supplied drinks and crisps, while other parents contributed to the food that was put on.
The German students all went into the pool for a little while and it was nice to see them all looking happy. It is their first time away from home and I can imagine how our children felt last year when they went to Germany and stayed with their German partners. Some of them have been a little homesick, but hopefully they will settle down and enjoy their stay in our homes and town.
