Swimming/Bowling
I forgot to mention that yesterday morning Lisa joined us for some of our Karate lesson. She enjoyed the first part where we were doing our basic punches and kicks. She wasn’t able to join the sparring, but watched and said afterwards that it looked too rough. She said she enjoyed watching and it was hard work.
This morning, David took James, Tiffany and Lisa to the Leisure Centre swimming. Lisa enjoyed it and said the water was cold but not as cold as yesterday when we went to Sarahs’ swimmingpool. They all had breakfast when they got home and Lisa went upsatirs with Tiffany and James to play cards.
I had arranged Bowling for the same group of students who went to the pool party. It went down very well and all the students seemed to enjoy themselves. The time passed very quickly though. We had three lanes booked and the students split up into groups. Unfortunately the mix seemed to be one lane was German students, one lane was English students and the other lane was a mix. I don’t think anyone was too bothered as they all seemed to be enjoying it anyway.
Some students went back to Sarah’s house and others went swimming. We returned home as Tiffany had arranged for one other of the group to come to our house. Amy had dislocated her knee so was unable to join us in bowling, so she and her partner Lisa-Marie have come to watch a dvd with Tiffany and Lisa.
On the whole I think the weekend has been a success. It was difficult to decide how to amuse our guests as we had never met them before until Friday afternoon. Our students went to Germany mid week, so spent some time there before the weekend where they spent time with their host families. For us it has been straight away and we were all nervous as to how they would respond to that.
The rest of the week they will be at school with our children and they will be out and about visiting different places. We are off to Pizza Hut for tea as a treat for Lisa. I will update you tomorrow on the days events after I have found out what they have been up to.
