Did I or Didn’t I?

The answer is YES! I went back to the running club last Tuesday and I really enjoyed it. There were lots of new faces there as the training for the Race for Life began. I was really pleased that there were a couple of women who were of similar ability to me. We all got on really well together and I am hoping that there could be a few more possible friends to be made from it.

David has continued his fitness even though he is working away from home at the moment. He has even kept up the running side. It has made a huge difference to his fitness and he is much happier with himelf now. Keep it up!!

James has started football on a Saturday morning now. He really has been enjoying it. He got a little bit upset yesterday because he didn’t score a goal. We told him it didn’t matter and praised him for his goal keeping and his very long throw ins. He seems to be showing a talent for sport at the moment. He is fast at running and very good at swimming and he can throw a ball quite some distance for his age. Time will tell!

Today I beat my fastest time for the 5k. I really pushed myself and knocked 25 seconds off my best time. I ran it in 26 minutes and 55 seconds! I felt very sick afterwards for a few minutes but I soon recovered. By the time the Race for Life comes around in May, I would like to be sub 25 minutes. I don’t know if I can go that fast, but with the atmosphere it could be possible to do it.

We also cycled to the gym this afternoon too. MAD I hear you say! Well with such lovely weather, we decided to give it a go. My legs felt it after my run but as it’s not too far it was ok. When we got back I had a lovely chat with my neighbour putting the world to rights as they say. She was gardening and it made me feel that I ought to be getting on with ours. I did sort out the plants that I had shoved down the side of the house during those very windy days we had earlier in the year. I tidied them up a bit and they look ok. I am hoping the lavender will recover as they look a bit woody even though I trimmed them up before the winter. Oh well if they die I will have to replace them again.

As the weather improves and the days get longer I will probably spend more time in the garden. The grass is still too soggy and boggy to cut it at the moment with all of the rain we have had recently. I am hoping it will dry out soon as it is getting rather scruffy and long. It needs feed and weed on it as we have so much moss growing as it is so wet. I will get my neighbours gardener to do the first cut as that is always a tough one. Too much like hard work for me!
