Physio
Well as you know I still have not been able to run. I managed to get in to see a Physio for treatment to my groin injury.
The injury was quite severe as I had done a lot of damage to my groin, adducter muscle and yet again my ham string. My first Physio session was extremely painful and brought tears to my eyes. I was sweating as it was so painful. She told me I would be out for quite a few weeks to come. I had to book two sessions for this week and I was absolutely petrified to go, but had to.
It was not as bad as I thought it would be, but still very sore. Fridays session was more painful as I had overstretched whilst doing my exercises that Fiona had given me. I have learned from that and am now being very gentle.
I have no idea how many sessions I will have to have to aid recovery, or how long it will be before I can start running again. I see so many people and feel a bit fed up because I am missing out. I know I will have to take much more care when I do start again. I also know that I will have to take running slowly and not go too far too soon. I have decided not to return to the club until I am fully fit as advised by my Physio. I feel a long slow slog coming just in time for those cold long winter nights. OH JOY!!
