Swimming and avoiding scales

31st January 2006

An update of this years health kick is well overdue, so here is a very quick one.

I have built up the swimming again to the whole mile and I have managed to cut out any rest breaks. I am constantly amazed at how the body adapts so quickly to a regular exercise regime. It only taken 3 weeks of going 3 times a week to build up from about 40 lengths to 64 lengths and resting every 16 lengths to not needing a rest at all.

I am still following Paul McKennas “I can make you thin”. On the whole, it is proving to be quite easy to follow again. I am eating far less and exercising. My face is looking a bit thinner in the mirror and my clothes feel a little looser. My actual weight change is unknown since I am avoiding the scales.

    Weight Loss

I just wanted to say ‘Well Done!’

My Mum told me today about the Paul McKenna show on SkyOne which we don’t subscribe to but I’ve been reading the website. I then wanted a visual on this tapping method so I googled ‘Paul McKenna tapping’ and found your blog. I didn’t find a visual on the tapping though rolls eyes

I’ve read a little of your blog and you’re taking many positive steps to shedding weight and exercising.

I’ve been shedding weight since November 2004 and did very well in the first year. I’ve shed almost 3.5 stone. I’d like to shed another 2.5 stone. Since a stressful time in January, I’ve been stuck in a rut. It seems to be a case of ‘two steps forward, one step back’ with my weightloss. Although the January stress is long over now (it took a while to sort out), a series of small stresses have cropped up since and I just basically find it harder to cope with so my desire for chocolate increases as does my appetite for it! And that’s my downfall. In all other areas of my food intake and exercising, I’m doing really well.

I’ve decided to concentrate on my mind at the moment and I’m doing regular meditation to calm myself because I feel the rest will fall into place after I’ve properly de-stressed.

I already had a Paul McKenna weight loss CD which I periodically listen to which covers the 4 golden rules that are mentioned on the website.

I want to wish you the best in your endeavours. I know it’s a big challenge for us all but I’m certain we’ll get there in the end.

    Keep up the good work.

    Take care
    Cheryl

Thank You For Sharing With Us!

    Hi David,

As someone that has spent most of her life looking for that special diet to miraculously melt her back end away, I have found that having focus and determination is crucial to achieving your fitness goals and I love your determination in all of your posts.

I have recently created a blog where I want people to add their stories about what worked for them. (This includes diet and fitness programs)

I have created this for all the people who have been on endless diets to allow them to see the common thread that each person has had to be successful in their fitness and diet program. I would like to add your link to the blog also David and have you share your story.

If you like to check it out, please visit:
http://www.dietsearchblog.com and let me know what you think!

    All My Best,

    Jody

    I can make you thin

    Hi David,

I found your blog when I was looking for a support group for I Can Make You Thin. As I couldn’t find one, I’ve started my own on Yahoo, and I thought you might be interested.

If you are, please send an email to: ICMYTsupport-subscribe@yahoogroups.co.uk
to subscribe. There’s only one member currently (me), so email-traffic is not heavy!

If it’s not your kind of thing, that’s fine too!

    Good luck with your health-mission.

    Tam

Please also forward to anyone else that you know would be interested.
