This blog is no longer being updated. I have MOVED to my new home.

It was nice here, while it lasted, but hopefully a fresh start will make life more interesting elsewhere!

Episode III

Good. Very good. Definitely too much for little James to see, and I understand why it has the guidance rating it has. But, necessarily dark. Its a pity that Episodes I and II weren’t aimed for the same target audience, as a significant proportion of the people wanting to see these films has grown up since Episode IV-VI.

The critics slate the acting, but acting has not been an important element of the Star Wars saga anyway. The story has an attraction of its own. I particularly like the way that Anakin’s reason for turning to the dark side ends up being the cause behind the visions he has. Also, the outcome plunges him further into the dark side, to the Emporers great delight – delicious. Obi Wan’s and Darth Vaders light sabre fight is fantastic, along with the way it ends. I was worried that Obi Wan totally removing Darth Vaders limbs would be out of character, and the story addressed that point neatly too. Darth Vader not knowing about Luke and Leah was simply explained, and C3PO’s amnesia re: Tatooine is also neatly brushed aside.

Go and see it.

Hurrah!!!

The plateau is broken :D. I knew it had to happen eventually, but was starting to think it would never happen. I was starting to not try so hard, which I suppose is quite natural when things aren’t working out. Now I can “listen to my bodies requirements” more, and get back into the groove again.

For the record, I am 14st 6.6lb today (202.6lb, 92.1Kg, BMI 31.9). So, my first minor milestone of losing 1 stone has been acheived and I am 12lb from my first major milestone of no longer being obese. I won’t try and predict how long that will take now, since I have had my confidence dented!

Alison is taking James to see Magic Roundabout today and I am envious. I’ve decided to finish the functional specification document that I have been working on, in order to get it out of the way. Sigh.
