The Arc
The Arc is a sanctuary for wild animals who have been ill-treated or abandoned. They come from all over Spain, perhaps used and abused in the circus, used as props for photography or kept as illegal pets. They are rescued and taken to this wonderful natural habitat to recover and then placed in zoos. The sanctuary is run by a gentle, compassionate French man called Seraphin. He has a natural affinity to the animals and it is fascinating to see him with the animals, especially the big cats. He calls to them as he walks past and they all, without exception run to him. He then strokes, cuddles, romps with them and kisses them.
We found The Arc 3 years ago when it was very little known. Since then the King and Queen of Spain have officially opened it and it has been widely advertised and become a popular place to visit. they rely totally on donations to upkeep this wonderful natural resort but surprisingly only ask for a donation of 5 Euros entrnace fee.
