Telephones and Internet

Well, they have finally started installation of the new Internet and Telephone System here on Cumbre del Sol. We were number 21 out of approximately 1000 installations.

We were installed last Thursday and after quite a bit of faffing around was up and running on Internet and told telepone connection would follow in 2 working days. Ha, Ha!

Having disconnected my Sattelite Broadband System I was disappointed to find that the new connection had more down time than up time! Why should I not be surprised! It was found that our house was in a black spot and other houses were interupting the radio waves. Solution – the installers are in the process of putting up another mast to which we should be connected on Monday! Watch this space!

There has been no sight or sound with regard to our Spanish telephone line and number. We are assured that this will happen within the next week. Again, watch this space!

Son, David, is here at the moment and he has discovered that they have changed the configuration to what he was told back in April. This probably means that we have purchased equipment that will not be needed for the set up of our UK telephone line. Ce la Vie!

Meanwhile, David has set up a temporary UK connection on X-Lite to the installed equipment to prove that it will work once the installers have supplied the information required to enable him to complete his proper installation, so hopefully we will then have the facility to make and receive cheap calls to and from the UK.

I do hope it all gets sorted while David is here!
