Today we waved Lorraine, Geoff, Natalie and Laura off at about 1.15pm as they drove off in their hire car to the airport to get their flight connection to the UK.
Sheets were already fluttering in the breeze and the washing machine was pounding the beat of more washing taking place. The last time of chalet maiding this year is about to begin!
We’ve really enjoyed having family and friends sharing our home here in Spain with us but have to say that this year it has been very intense with some quick turnarounds, which has on occasions been a bit tiring. But it was all worthwhile.
After the holiday makers had departed we sat out on the terrace with a cup of tea feeling a bit strange being on our own and realising that no more visitors would be coming in a few days. But then reality – washing had to be taken in and more hung out – everything is washed and dried now but the housework can wait till another day this time as there is no real rush!
Looking forward – Peter started making his list of jobs that he wants to do in the next month before we go to the UK to do a bit more decorating in our UK house! The list is looking a bit lengthy so we will see how he gets on. Lots of early rising to get on with the chores before the real heat of August days starts!
Most of our friends go away this week so socialising and eating out will diminish considerably. I think that is not such a bad thing as certainly my waistband is feeling a bit tight but lucky Peter never puts any weight on.
