Update from Spain
Hi everyone!
Well, the Gota Fria lasted about 2 days. Starting at around midnight on Tuesday and finishing Thursday morning with a humungus storm in the middle of it. We are now back to clear blue skies, sunshine and temperatures back in the mid 20’s. We sat out at friends all evening and it was really warm with the temperature reading 22 degrees at 1am in the morning.
Last night we went to friends Bob and Linda’s for the evening. It was Bob’s birthday and their son and partner and their daughter are over here at the moment. They had also invited quite a few of their other friends, most of whom we have met before. They are a good crowd and we had a good laugh and a really good evening. Thank you Bob and Linda, once again, for your hospitality.
Only downside of the evening – I forgot to put the insect repellent on – silly me! And I collected more insect bites in one evening than I’ve had all year and they are driving me mad today!

I found your Website, when I was looking at Google for something about “Gota fria”. We were hit once by the gota fria some years ago, when sailing around Mallorca with even a tornado. I am wondering, whether gota fria is a tipical Mallorquian phenomena or a general spanish. Therefore my question: Where are you?
Kind regards from Meilen (near Zurich)

Nearly 6 inches of rain this morning; Port and Town now closed off together with motorway exits…boats on the canal here in Javea floating away. Worst Gota Fria in a decade.
