Diary from Spain

The weather – Well, what can I say except that it is wonderful. Every day clear blue skies and lovely sunshine and its mid November too! Having said that, it is a bit fresh first thing in the mornings so breakfast outdoors is not an option at the moment. We also succumbed to putting the central heating on for the first time just for an hour last night as we felt the first chill of winter evenings.

Water activities – Despite the cover, the pool has now dropped to 18 degrees so no more swimming for this year but the jacuzzi is still wonderful at 36 degrees. Did the housework yesterday and the old back was bad this morning but a half hour session in the tub soon sorted it out.

Friends – Bill and Joan and Bill’s sister Barbara are over here at the moment and came to visit us on Wednesday. They had shared their boat with us on their last visit so we shared out jacuzzi with them this time around. Does not seem a fair exchange somehow! They stayed for dinner and we had a good afternoon and evening in great company once again.

Whatever is wrong with Bill? Joan thinks it’s funny anyway!

Barbara preferred to lounge about in the sunshine!

Dining out - We had a fantastic meal in the good company of Tom and Sarah at the Himalaya Tandoori Restaurant in Moraira on Saturday night. Indian food is still relatively new to us but this restaurant does an excellent Menu del Dia, or menu of the day for those of you not familiar with the Spanish term. They serve a 3 course menu for 12.50 Euros per person which includes so many different tastes to excite the palette. The staff are so friendly and obliging and give wonderful service too. It is a popular restaurant whose reputaion has spread rapidly far and wide and they are always busy whatever time of the year so we have to make sure we book a table.

Pete’s Project - Peter has made good progress on his back garden from a mountain project over the last couple of weeks and is well on target to complete it by next spring. Silly boy did drop a rock on his finger though and is sporting a lovely black nail!

Back to the UK – It only seems like yesterday that we were in the UK but this Friday will see us returning for another 2 week visit. This time though we do NOT intend to be decorating and will spend more time socialising.
