Our Spanish Garden

I’ve waffled a lot over the past few weeks about our lovely manicured, neat and tidy garden. This is the front garden by the way as the back garden is still under construction.
As I have gone on a bit about it I thought I would let you see and judge for yourselves.

Telephone and Internet

We have finally been issued with a Spanish telephone number so now we are, or should be, totally up and running with a proper telephone/internet system in Spain. A Spanish Number for use purely for incoming and outgoing calls within Spain, an English number for incoming and outgoing calls to and from the UK and [...]

Problems With Wordpress2

The problems I have been experiencing with transferring photos from Wordpress2 are apparently due to non recognition of spaces in titles. David configured all the photo titles already on our gallery to compensate for this but I must change all the spaces in all my file names and photo titles in my picture folder to [...]

August Weather Here in Spain

We were threatened with forecasts of temperatures of 50 degrees centigrade during the month of August. Thankfully, that has not happened -yet. It is tending to reach 30-35 degrees but where we live there is an almost continuous breeze so it does not feel that hot.
However, we do notice it when we go down the [...]

Photo Gallery

Just as I had got settled into a routine of card making, David decided to move our family photo gallery to another site. I think that’s the right terminology!
This, of course, meant more learning as things work a bit different. I received, what seemed to me, reams of instructions from David all wrapped up in [...]

Greetings Cards

Hi Folks!
Well things have been very quiet and not a lot has been happening here so I thought I would recommence making my Christmas Cards. “In August!” do I hear you say? Well, for those of you who have not received one of my ‘personal’ cards, I treated myself to a fantastic computer greetings card [...]

Dinner with Tom and Sarah

Tom and Sarah, our new next door neighbours, very kindly invited us to dinner on Saturday night. Not for anything special, said Sarah but she dished up a wonderful meal. We had melon and Serano ham for a starter and beef bourguignonne for our main course, which was delicious and the meat just melted in [...]

Blitzed!!!

It is a week today since we said goodbye to our last visitors of this season and we started on a cleaning and tidying up programme. Spring cleaning in August – we must be mad!
The weather was kind to us as for 6 days there was heavy cloud and temperatures were more conducive to working, [...]

Visitor Free!

Today we waved Lorraine, Geoff, Natalie and Laura off at about 1.15pm as they drove off in their hire car to the airport to get their flight connection to the UK.
Sheets were already fluttering in the breeze and the washing machine was pounding the beat of more washing taking place. The last time of chalet [...]

The Rest of Lorraine and Family’s Visit

On Saturday when our visitors eventually returned to the villa, having battled their way around Calpe market and spending the rest of the day at a public swimming pool we all went out to dinner at the Corral del Pato restaurant in Gata.
This restaurant does two speciality dishes comprising one of lamb and one [...]
