Score 3 Hearts!
Anyone familiar with the board game ‘The Game of Life’ will know that whenever anything really good happens to you in the game you ‘Score 3 Hearts!’ for happiness! Well, when we are at our villa in Spain, I must have won the game a thousandfold as I have scored hundreds of hearts!
In my previous Blogs I have told you what we have been up to but I have never told about the joy and happiness given to us by Mother Nature. Before we had our villa built I remember showing a friend photos of where our villa would be and the spectacular views we would have. Her response was, “It’s very nice my dear, but you do realise that there are not many trees so you won’t have any birds around you!” How wrong could she have been!
We wake up to bird song every morning and have seen all manner of species of bird life, including Blackbirds, Robins , Finches and Sparrows, Stone Thrushes, Tits, House Martins and Swifts, and in the Spring and Autumn we have hundreds of Chaffinches stopping to feed off the scrub land of our mountainside to before continuing on their way from and to Africa.
Of course we also have masses of sea gulls floating daily in the sky above us and it’s fascinating when a family of Chuffs sweep in to take over the territory and we witness what looks like ‘The Battle of Britain’ as Gulls and Chuffs swoop, turn and fight each other for their right to the air space. We also have our fair share of Birds of Prey soaring high above us but what prompted me to write this today was a Kestral sweeping down and passing right in front of my eyes while I was sitting out on the terrace. Magnificient!
Mother Nature also provides us with spectacular skies and seascapes that change daily and sometimes frequently during the course of a day. Of course there are the clear blue skies and crystal blue seas that one associates with Spain but we like the dramatic skies when the clouds and storms come, changing the sky to grey and black and the sea to silver and gunmetal grey. We have the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets, especially in the Spring and Autumn and we often see beautiful rainbows in triplicate arching over the sea. But the most exciting times are when we are treated to a lightening storm out at sea. The lightening flashes lighting up the whole sky while fork lightening streaks down hitting the sea and more dances across the sky to bounce off the mountains. The most spectacular storm we have ever seen was last September when in the middle of a firework display lighting up the sky from below us in the town of Moraira, a fantastic storm came and joined in the display. It was like being treated to a free laser/firework display. Fantastic!
Thank You Mother Nature!!!

Yes you are very lucky and do have some beautiful scenery. Many an evening we have enjoyed those same skies with you both x
